WRC & Goodform extend partnership

WRC & Goodform extend partnership to accelerate audience growth for the 2023 World Rally Championship with the upcoming release of Rally.TV

The FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) and Goodform have extended their partnership following a record breaking 2022 which saw huge growth across database and OTT subscriptions.

Goodform’s Customer Data Platform provides WRC with an always-on understanding of their global fanbase, which has helped Goodform and WRC deliver highly targeted digital marketing campaigns throughout 2022, with the primary aim of elevating the number of subscribers to the WRC+ and RX+ streaming services.

The WRC database has seen significant growth, fuelled by a clear audience engagement strategy, which in turn has resulted in a large uplift of customers to WRC+, which is predicted to expand even further in June with the launch of Rally.TV.

Rally.TV will combine all existing streaming services into one platform, offering behind-the-scenes access, live interviews, replays, and classic rally and race footage for fans around the world. Additionally, subscribers will have access to Rally.TV – the world’s first 24/7 channel dedicated to rallying and rallycross.

We’ve seen an adrenaline fuelled start to the 2023 season with exhilarating performances in Monte-Carlo, Sweden, and Mexico, with Sébastien Ogier currently sitting top of the leaderboard. Streaming revenue is already up compared to the 2022 season.

WRC continues to innovate in the world of motorsport, as this season will feature the Central European Rally, a round which takes place across three countries, Austria, Czech Republic, and Germany. Chile is also set to make its return for the first time since COVID-19. This combined with the release of Rally.TV will ensure that the 51st season is an unforgettable one.

Joe Kyle, Goodform’s Client & Commercial Director, said:

We look ahead with excitement and confidence, especially to the launch of the new Rally.TV OTT platform.”

Philipp Meanner, WRC’s Media Rights Director, Said:

“With the launch of Rally.TV we will be further enhancing the consumer experience with more rallying and rallycross than ever before,” said WRC Promoter Senior Director of Media Right Philipp Männer. “Goodform has been a vital partner to the WRC over the past two seasons and we expect to grow with them further as we look ahead to our exciting Rally.TV launch.”
